Our Ideology

Our Ideology: Ubuntu-cracy

Ubuntu-cracy is the guiding ideology of the Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP). It is a system of governance, leadership, and social organisation founded on the African philosophy of Ubuntu—the belief that “a person is a person through other people.” It places human dignity, justice, accountability, compassion, and collective responsibility at the centre of national development.

What is Ubuntu-cracy?

Ubuntu-cracy affirms that the people are the custodians of sovereignty and that government exists solely to serve the nation, protect fundamental rights, and uphold justice without fear or favour. It rejects oppression, corruption, tribalism, discrimination, abuse of power, and all forms of exploitation that undermine human dignity and national unity.

Why self-determination?

The MRP believes that every citizen has the right to freedom, equality before the law, economic opportunity, cultural identity, and meaningful participation in shaping the future of the nation. We advocate for transparent and accountable institutions, ethical leadership, and governance rooted in service rather than privilege.

Ubuntu-cracy also recognises that a nation’s strength is built upon strong families, vibrant communities, respect for traditional institutions, and the preservation of cultural heritage. It promotes unity in diversity, where every community and every individual is valued regardless of ethnicity, language, religion, gender, or social background.

Economically, Ubuntu-cracy advances inclusive and sustainable development by empowering communities, encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation, promoting responsible stewardship of natural resources, and ensuring that the wealth of the nation benefits its people rather than a privileged few. Economic justice is regarded as an essential pillar of political freedom and national prosperity.

Why justice?

Our ideology embraces peaceful democratic engagement, constitutionalism, the rule of law, and respect for international human rights principles. We believe that lasting peace can only be achieved through justice, truth, reconciliation, and equal opportunities for all.

Why national restoration?

As a revolutionary movement, the MRP seeks not merely a change of political leadership but a transformation of governance, society, and the national mindset. Ubuntu-cracy represents a commitment to building a nation founded on integrity, service, self-determination, justice, and shared prosperity.
